Yes you need a special tooth paste. DO NOT USE HUMAN TOOTHPASTE!





Dogs do not have the ability to 'spit' and Human toothpaste is harmful to them. That is why there are special toothpastes if they are necessary.





I use a product called ';Pet Kiss'; as an additive to my Dog's water, and i give them lots of bones to chew on, this ensures they have healthy teeth and i don't have to brush their teeth.





Chewing is the best thing for your pup.
Buy toothpaste formulated for dogs. It鈥檚 flavored so dogs love it. Start with a little bit of toothpaste on your finger and let your puppy taste it. Then put your finger under his upper lip and rub the toothpaste on his teeth. when done, be sure to reward your pup. you can then buy an infant鈥檚 toothbrush or a toothbrush designed for dogs and begin brushing. they also have dog formulated mouthwash if necessary lol.
I'm pretty sure you can use a regular tooth brush.. but you cannot use regular toothpaste.
