How do I repaint furniture without leaving brush marks?

Use a good (!very! expensive) paint and brush, gentle strokes, temperature and humidity should be just right, read the paint label for details. How do I repaint furniture without leaving brush marks?
It depends on the type of paint you want to use. Regular ';wall'; type paint is never going to look good on furniture, sorry.

You could spray it, that is one way.

Or use a high gloss paint, the surface of which tends to level itself out and brush marks disappear. However painting with this sort of paint takes a bit of practice to get it to look reall nice. Most people overload the brush and this causes ';runs';. You can get ';outdoor'; weatherproof versions of this paint. BUt it looks reallty nice when done right and is especially good for outdoor work. Do not forget to sand off the gloss finish between coats. You of course do not sand the final coat.

Most varnish and lacquer finishes behave this way, or you can spray them.

This is mostly for wood furniture.

Metal and plastic can be painted with this sort of paint. You have to sand it first and use a primer also before the gloss. How do I repaint furniture without leaving brush marks?
what type of furniture/ wood or metal.

If metal spray paint

If wood use oil base paint, a very good brush and sand with at least 220 grit
